Middle Eastern Fruit Crunch

Ready to eat dried fruit is really underestimated, in this dish it is simply prepared to produce a really delicious and nutritious breakfast.

Ingredients Method

A bit of this, a bit of that

  • 250g dried fruit salad (apricots, prunes, figs, sliced pears and apples)
  • 1 tablespoon runny honey
  • 1 cinnamon stick, broken in half
  • 3 slices of lemon
  • 300ml boiling water
  • To serve:
  • Onken Natural Yogurt
  • Crunchy Granola cereal
  • Runny honey (optional)

Step-by-step

  1. 1 Place the dried fruit, honey, cinnamon stick, lemon slices and boiling water into a medium pan, cover and gently bring to the boil, reduce heat to a simmer for 20 minutes until all the fruit is soft. Allow to stand for 30 minutes or longer.
  2. 2 Serve a portion topped with the yogurt and crunchy granola.

    Cooks Tip: In winter why not serve the fruit salad with porridge topped with a couple of spoonfuls of Onken Natural yogurt.
