variety is...
We're a naturally omnivorous species – we've prospered thanks to our ability to find practically everything edible. Any nature programme will prove this point – if you could only eat a certain berry at a certain time of the year, you'd soon become endangered. The human diet has come to rely on, and crave, variety. So why not try this: for a whole week, think about what you usually eat, and then have something else instead. If you usually drink tea, have fruit juice. Then, after a week, see how you feel. We bet you'll feel strangely wonderful.
articulate announcement
We all find ourselves lost for words. But have you ever wondered why some people have all the answers, all the explanations, the right words at the right time? Many people believe our vocabularies have a big part to play in how intelligent we are - you can't mean what you say unless you say what you mean. So why not learn a few new words every day. Websites like dictionary.com are very useful for this. A word of warning, though, try not to use your new words unless you really mean them. You don't want to sound supercilious, condescending, hubristic or vainglorious now, do you?
face those fears
Going through life avoiding things can stop you from doing the really enjoyable stuff. After all, you wouldn't want your fear of spiders to stop you from visiting Australia, or your fear of giant Maoris to stop you from going to a rugby match. So, why not spend time overcoming a few phobias. Read up on the subject and find out why you're scared of hair nets, shopping centres or ferrets. And when you're at it, try a new flavour of Yogurt, maybe one you've been a bit fearful of in the past. You never know where you'll end up.
what's new
This is the information age, so there's no excuse to be ill-informed. So, next time you hear about something you have absolutely no knowledge of, look it up. What exactly is Spinning? Curling? Topiary? Your computer is very useful for this and could send you into areas you'd never previously imagined. For example – how many Superfoods do you eat a day? Well, why not take a moment to find out? As a starter, we're pleased to tell you that if you've just eaten a Yogurt – you've already scored.
2 cups fresh strawberries
1/4 cup basil leaves, thinly sliced
1 cup Onken BIOPOT (any flavour)
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup white wine
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 cup Onken BIOPOT (any flavour) to top berries
Slice strawberries and fresh basil leaves, mix together.
To prepare sauce, combine balsamic vinegar, white wine and brown sugar in a sauce pan, and heat on high until reduced by half, giving the mixture a syrup-like consistency. Once reduced, cool the mixture, and then combine with one cup of the yogurt.
To serve, scoop the berries with the basil into a bowl or wine glass, top with yogurt and then with the balsamic yogurt sauce.
