1940 - the beginning

Onken was born way back in 1940, when Hermann Onken started making his delicious yogurt, full of natural ingredients, for his beloved family. By the end of the decade, his products were becoming more and more popular, with his dairy producing loads of delicious creamy yogurt.


1973 - a little change

In 1973, Mr Onken’s son Enno took charge of the dairy, creating lots of new yogurts. Ten years later came the big one: the birth of the BIOPOT. Containing three bio-cultures, this award-winning yogurt was nothing less than a revolution in a pot – a feel-good as well as taste-good chilled pot of loveliness. And its recyclable packaging shows that, at Onken, we don’t just make mild, creamy yogurt. We care about the environment too.


2004...

The Dr. Oetker family took over and are continuing the tradition of making high quality chilled dairy products.
